Gratitude

Today I feel grateful so I thought I would blog about gratitude. There are times in my life when I feel like I've been handed a raw deal, that I've made poor choices that have resulted with my being in a really bad situation. But lately I have felt that I am very lucky.

What am I grateful for today?
  • Babies of course - helped along in their creation by technology and science, things that I used to curse when I was in High School and studying them
  • Love - a husband who loves me and the babies, despite his reluctance in creating them and his desire for a much simpler "me focused" life (He kissed my belly twice yesterday - one for each baby - I almost cried!)
  • Food - it seems such a simple thing, to be grateful for food on my table but there have been times I have wondered how I would buy groceries that week so the ability to purchase fresh fruit & veggies, milk, meat, and convenience foods (& starbucks coffee once in a while!!!) is a wonderment that I feel tremendous gratitude for
  • Family & Friends - a support system is vital to me. They have carried me through the past 3 years of trials and tribulations and brought me to where I am today
  • Sunshine!! what a glorious day and what a glorious city I live in!
  • Ability - The ability to do something that I enjoy, to do it well, and to be recognized regularly by my co-workers & volunteers as doing it well; Another form of "Ability" - my ability to move and walk and jump and play and climb stairs and think clearly... fate handed me a lucky straw as I've had close calls with accidents but I've survived and thrived. Others have not been so lucky, so I must be grateful for where I am today.
  • Brain / Smarts - Sort of the same as Ability but I am very grateful that I do have the thinking ability to have and hold a fairly good job that requires me to exercise my brain every day
  • Being Canadian - I am proud to be a Canadian, to live in this great country which i belive is the best country. I love the red & white, maple leafs, and beaver tails, I think moose are cute (but big, strong & scarey!), a love of canoeing is part of my value system and I can't imagine a childhood without canoeing & camping. Today was the opening ceremonies of the 2006 Torino Olympic Games. I was so proud to be a Canadian and cannot wait until 2010 when it's OUR turn. I WILL be in the stadium at the opening ceremonies.

Okay, that's enough of gratitude today.

But I am very grateful.

My belly is big, bigger than yesterday. Ken says I look pregnant now. Which is good. Because I am. It wouldn't be good to look pregnant and not be pregnant. But people still don't give me a seat on the bus. I wish they would!!!!!
